Founded in 1980 by internationally famous designers, Andres Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, DPZ’s goal is to develop and grow thriving communities. Their focus is on cities, towns and neighborhoods, which encourage walking, diversity and complexity. As the face of ‘New Urbanism’, Andres Duany is the Master Plan Designer for Town Madison. The universal principles of the New Urbanism movement are to promote the creation of real communities with pedestrian-oriented, transit-ready neighborhoods. These neighborhoods encourage mixed uses, and allow the landscape to shape their streets. These principles project a sustainable quality of life that competes with the conventional suburban dream. Steve Mouzon is the principal town architect for Town Madison’s residential neighborhoods, The Heights and The Commons. He helps guide the cultivation of the homes and town center buildings as the community continues to grow. Mouzon works closely with the Master Planner, architects, developers, and designers to create flourishing neighborhoods. His house plans have been featured repeatedly as Home of the Month in Southern Living, Coastal Living, and Cottage Living. Mouzon’s mission is to have an influence for good far beyond the boundaries of work by creating ideas that are rational enough, compelling enough, and inspiring enough that they take on a life of their own.
